Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is recruiting for a Ward Host/Hostess at The Manor Hospital, Oxford. You will deliver meals to patients with care and a smile, ensuring comfort and positive experiences for patients, staff and visitors.

The role requires a friendly, reliable individual with good communication and a can-do attitude. Training includes Food Safety Level 2, with uniform and free meals on shift provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role or willingness to learn.
• Positive, reliable and caring approach with a genuine desire to provide excellent service to patients.
• Good communication and listening skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and work efficiently.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Good timekeeping, reliability and a flexible approach to supporting the team.
• Willingness to learn and complete required training, including maintaining mandatory standards i.e.
• A Food Safety Level 2 certificate (or equivalent), or a willingness to achieve this.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a friendly, high-quality meal service to patients, ensuring dignity, care and excellent customer service.
• Prepare, assemble and serve patient meals accurately, including special dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and infection prevention in line with hospital and company policies.
• Complete food temperature checks, quality records and other required documentation accurately.
• Keep ward kitchens, catering equipment and work areas clean, safe and well stocked.
• Support stock rotation, waste reduction and the safe transportation of food trolleys.
• Work as part of a team, following instructions and helping with other catering duties as required

37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, including weekends

Shift Times: as per rota, example of shifts: 7 am - 2:30 pm / 11 am - 7 pm / 1 am - 9 pm

Free meal on shift / Uniform provided
