The Opportunity

The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: utilization of OBTV and Meditech data entry on all patients, including admission, transfer and discharge; ordering of lab specimens; ordering and maintaining supplies; transport functions; answering phones; assembling discharge and assessment charts.

Hours of Work

12 Hour Shifts, rotating shifts of 07:00 – 19:00 and 19:00 – 07:00; Mon-Fri and Weekends.

Your Qualifications
-High School Diploma or GED required
-Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)
-Knowledge of SAP an asset
-Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
-Knowledge of Meditech preferred
-Experience using OBTV preferred
-Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)
-Data entry skills required
-Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
-Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
-High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus
-Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
-Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
-Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required
-Competency in other languages considered an asset
