Job summary

Citi is seeking a VP-level Java Developer to join the Equities Electronic Trading team. You will design, develop, and optimize the low-latency execution platform, focusing on the Smart Order Router and microservices architecture to deliver best execution.

You will collaborate with product, quantitative researchers, and other tech teams, drive code reviews, improve testing and deployment, and ensure robust monitoring, reconciliation, and recovery while adhering to risk and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in high‑performance, low‑latency systems.
• Expert-level Core Java knowledge, including JVM internals and memory management.
• Experience designing automated trading systems; Smart Order Router preferred.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol and market data handling.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities
