Job summary

TD Securities is hiring a Vice President for GTB Risk in Toronto to partner with Origination, Product and other teams. You will evaluate complex transactions, advise on risk, and shape documentation while aligning with TD’s risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills, 5+ years in transaction banking or related fields, and experience across credit, structuring, and legal considerations.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience originating, structuring, executing, or advising on complex transactions.
• Strong understanding of GTB products or relevant financing structures.
• Experience assessing transaction structures, legal documentation, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and commercial judgement.
• Ability to collaborate with Origination, Product, Legal, Credit, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to challenge stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and balance competing demands.
• A professional qualification (Law degree, MBA, CFA, accounting) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Partner with GTB teams to assess and shape products, initiatives, client solutions, and transactions from design through execution.
• Assess commercial and risk implications of legal documentation, regulatory requirements, and market practices with Legal and Compliance.
• Review and shape complex transaction structures and documentation, identify risks, and evaluate alternatives with Legal and other partners.
• Support credit requests, annual reviews, non-standard requests, and bespoke client needs.
• Assess impact of legal, regulatory, geopolitical, and market developments on GTB products and risks.
• Develop and maintain GTB risk policies, frameworks, and playbooks.
• Advise on framework exceptions balancing commercial objectives with risk.
• Advise senior stakeholders on material risk matters and influence outcomes.
• Escalate material risks and policy deviations as needed.
• Share transaction, product, and risk expertise to strengthen the team.
