Job summary

BCAA in Burnaby, BC seeks a Vice President, Corporate Development & Innovation to lead growth through M&A, strategic partnerships and new ventures. Reporting to the CTO and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will build and guide the corporate development capability, identify targets, and structure transactions.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in corporate development or related fields, strong financial modelling, and a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development or related fields.
  • Strong financial modelling and due diligence capabilities.
  • MBA or equivalent graduate education is an asset.

Vice President, Corporate Development & Innovation.

Reporting to the Chief Transformation & Technology Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President will play a pivotal role in shaping long-term growth through corporate development, M&A, strategic partnerships and innovation. The incumbent will establish and lead BCAA’s corporate development capability, identifying and evaluating acquisition targets, strategic partnerships and new business opportunities. The role will lead preliminary due diligence, valuation analysis, financial modelling, risk assessment and transaction structuring, while partnering closely with leadership across the Finance, Legal and Executive teams. The mandate also includes developing business cases, assessing emerging markets, advancing BCAA’s Strategic Ventures pipeline and identifying opportunities created by changing consumer behaviour, technology and industry trends.

BCAA is one of British Columbia’s most trusted organizations, providing insurance, roadside assistance, auto repair, Evo Car Share and Evolve E-Bike Share to members and customers across the province. As the organization looks to its next phase of growth, BCAA is seeking a strategic and commercially minded Vice President, Corporate Development & Innovation. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate development, strategy, M&A, investment banking, management consulting, venture development or a related field. They will have demonstrated experience evaluating or executing transactions, strong financial modelling and business case development skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex organization. Strong executive presence, commercial judgment, communication skills and a collaborative leadership style will be essential. An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is required, with an MBA or equivalent graduate education considered an asset.

This is an 18-month contract role. Located in Burnaby, BC, this is a rare opportunity to build and lead BCAA’s corporate development platform within one of the province’s most recognized organizations.

This is a highly influential leadership mandate that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide investment decisions, drive strategic growth initiatives and play a meaningful role in defining BCAA’s future direction.

Compensation: The expected base salary range for this role is CAD$180,000-$210,000, with flexibility for candidates who bring exceptional and highly relevant experience. The role also comes with an excellent total compensation package including a bonus, vacation, and an award-winning corporate culture.
