Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Shared Health, the VP, Chief Financial Officer (VP, CFO) ensures financial resources and business functions effectively support the achievement of Shared Health’s mandate and goals. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP, CFO leads all Shared Health financial and business activities, including accounting transactions, treasury and cash management, reporting, budgets and revenue, forecasting, analysis, strategy and planning, accountability, performance and health data, all health information services, and all commercial enterprises. The VP, CFO leads the teams that provide enterprise financial and all aspects of finance, including financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and reporting, for both capital and operating funding; the teams that provides data, analysis, and performance metrics supporting business decisions. The VP, CFO ensures the delivery of cost-effective, efficient and reliable health service support functions and finance services for Shared Health. The position oversees the development of strategic planning, annual operating plans, and capital budgets for Shared Health by engaging all program areas to accurately reflect and account for financial pressures in the budget cycle. Responsibilities include ensuring that Finance, Performance and Analytics, , and Commercial Services teams assist senior organizational leaders with timely, cost-effective support services, accurate financial information, data, and performance and analytic advice supporting Shared Health’s strategic and operating plan. The position of VP, CFO functions in a manner consistent with and supports the mission, vision and values of Shared Health.
This position is guided by the foundational documents of the organization, including the organizational vision, mission, values and policies and available tools, models, methods, and standards to support best practices from established independent organizations such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Canadian public sector accounting standards, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and reviewing legislation and regulations related to financial activities including taxation where required, and other applicable legislation, regulations and standards.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
