Job summary

BMO Capital Markets, part of BMO Financial Group, is seeking a VP, Business Control Assurance to lead assurance programs across the Capital Markets offices. You will design testing strategies, supervise teams, and escalate findings while coordinating with risk partners and regulators.

The role emphasizes governance, control testing lifecycle, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Technology, and Internal Audit to uphold first-line assurance objectives.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• Graduate degree or relevant professional designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategy and plan into executable testing portfolios.
• Define scope, sequencing, frequency and testing approach across entities and risk categories.
• Develop risk-based test strategies, scripts, sampling, and evidence requirements.
• Lead end-to-end testing lifecycle from planning to remediation follow-up.
• Present findings to senior stakeholders and coordinate with risk partners and auditors.
