Job summary

BMO Capital Markets Corp. is seeking a Director/Managing Director for Business Control Assurance.

The role leads the independent first-line control assurance function within Governance and Controls and reports to the MD & Head of Capital Markets Governance and Controls. The ideal candidate will set strategy, operating model and annual plans, manage risk-based testing, and drive risk insights across front-office and OCOO teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services with leadership in capital markets control/risks.
• Professional designations such as CPA, CIA, CISA or CRMA are assets.

Responsibilities

• Set Capital Markets first-line assurance strategy and target operating model.
• Own enterprise annual and multi-year assurance plan and ensure delivery.
• Establish quality governance, evidence-based findings and remediation oversight.
• Provide executive reporting of plan coverage, results and themes.
• Lead organization transformation, talent development and capability building.
