Vosyn is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst intern at the Masters level. This remote role offers hybrid options in Toronto. You will monitor security systems, assess risks, and help strengthen our IT backbone while aligning with Canadian regulatory standards.

The internship provides exposure to SIEM, firewalls, vulnerability management, and security policy development, with mentorship from senior staff and potential for full-time opportunities after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed Master’s in Cybersecurity, CS, IT or related field.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management and threat analysis.
• Familiarity with Canada regulatory frameworks and security controls.
• Experience with SIEM, firewalls and vulnerability tools is desirable.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s IT infrastructure, sensitive data, and digital assets against cyber threats. This position requires a proactive professional who can monitor security systems, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents while ensuring compliance with Canadian regulatory standards and global security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security systems, networks, and applications to detect and mitigate threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and resolve security weaknesses.
• Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including analyzing root causes and implementing solutions.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to strengthen defenses.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

About You

• Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Master’s program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s program enrollment or completion is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis.
• Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to Canada.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls is a strong asset.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant credentials are a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
