Job description

Bring us your passion and one hour a week and we will find a role that suits you!

We all have special talents, skills and interests that make us who we are. What are your passions? Are you mechanically inclined? Do you know how to connect with youth and children? Or maybe you have an infectious smile that can brighten the day of others?

It is those types of personal attributes that make you our ideal volunteer!

And—while we always welcome volunteers with existing skills in aquatics, fitness, child minding and more—we are truly excited to embrace your unique attributes that will elevate our programming and help build a healthier community.

Find an area of interest

Read on to discover the many types of programs you could volunteer in and let us know if your passion could be a match! Or, contact our volunteer engagement manager for a one-on-one conversation to determine the ideal fit. We are excited to meet you!

  • Our "LovetoLead" opportunities are perfect for those who are interested in helping others lead a healthier lifestyle. Ideal for those who excel in teaching others, enjoy a variety of fitness activities and are eager to learn.
  • Our "Smile" opportunities are a good fit for those who enjoy working with the public or in an office setting and like to be organized. Knowledge with computers, administrative tasks and supervisory skills is not necessary, but greatly valued.
  • Use your love of swimming to help ensure that our community is water safe through our "SafeforLife" opportunities. Ideal for those who have good supervisory skills, can remain focused and calm in active situations, and have good to above average swimming abilities.
  • Our "Jack/Jill ofTrades" opportunities are a callout to anyone who enjoys fixing, building or just trying to figure out how to make things work! If you have a background in trades, cleaning or maintenance, then these flexible roles are for you. Whether you want to work during the day with lots of people around or at night in peace and quiet, this could be a perfect fit for you!
  • If you can relate to youth and are passionate about motivating and supporting young people, our "Mentor" opportunities are here for you! The Y offers a variety of programs for youth that would benefit from your life skills, expertise in a sport, or simply by listening and leading by example.
  • Do you love to read? Get paint on your hands? Lay down on floor and play? Maybe you are a grandma or grandpa with some time on your hands and years of experience with little ones. Our "KidsareAmazing" volunteer roles are varied in ages served, and activities offered—from before and after school care, to child minding, to summer camps, the Y will find a role to fill your passion.
