School of Rock Vancouver is seeking a vocal instructor to teach beginner to advanced students in-person, using the School of Rock Method. You will create a fun, safe and inspiring environment where students perform on real rock stages to showcase their progress.

Requirements include 2+ years as a musician (performing or teaching), ability to teach vocals, a diploma or degree in music, and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years as a musician, performing or teaching.
  • Ability to teach vocals from beginner to advanced.
  • Diploma/degree in music and music theory.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, patient and positive teacher.
  • Experience working with youth is an asset.
  • Team player who collaborates well.
  • Clean criminal background check required.
  • In-person at Vancouver location; no remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lessons using the School of Rock Method and materials.
  • Document student progress in School of Rock systems.
  • Maximize the quality of instruction across private lessons and shows.
  • Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs.
  • Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
  • Attend required training and meetings/events.
