Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Laval, QC, is seeking a Vivarium and Maintenance Clerk for the Toxicology team. You will handle animal housing, arrivals, and room readiness, following GLP and SOPs. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week with a salary of $19.25/hr and overtime premiums.

Flexible days and evenings, occasional overtime, and weekends may be required. Annual tuberculosis testing is required; a range of benefits begins on day one, including paid time off and other programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform sanitization of animal rooms and procedure rooms.

Job Overview

As a Vivarium and Maintenance Clerk for our Toxicology team located in Laval, you will perform certain activities related to animal housing and animal arrivals while following the established processes.

In This Role, Primary Responsibilities Include

• Perform sanitization of animal rooms and procedure rooms;
• Prepare rooms for animal arrivals;
• Perform animal arrivals and restraints;
• Perform rounds to collect waste and soiled materials;
• Ensure the integrity of the studies and fulfill the regulatory agencies requirements by performing the activities according to the Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) rules.

If you possess the following qualifications, we will train you in the rest:

• High School Diploma;

• Annual bonus based on performance;
• Schedule: Flexible schedule, you must be available days and evening. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime, weekends and holidays;
• Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week;
• Salary: $19.25/hr;
• Premiums: Evening ($2.50), Weekend ($2.75), Overtime (time and a half), Holidays (double time).
