About the Role

Working at the heart of a fast-paced fashion business, a Visual Merchandiser will create an environment that inspires customers to explore their personal style. This role supports and guides the store team to deliver an inspiring customer experience aligned with the H&M brand and values. The Visual Merchandiser actively drives sales and implements the visual identity, meeting customer and colleague expectations while adhering to all H&M procedures and standards.

This position reports to the Store Visual Manager (based on volume) or the Store Manager.

Your Day-to-Day

  1. Sales and Profit: Set garment presentation on the sales floor and windows according to the Commercial Handbook. Collaborate with the Department Manager to identify commercial opportunities and execute floor moves accordingly.
  2. Fashion Knowledge: Stay updated with current fashion trends, and share seasonal trend information, upcoming campaigns, and brand standards with the store team.

Customer Service

  • Ensure customer expectations are met through direct service according to H&M standards.
  • Support the store in achieving an excellent customer experience.

Indirect Customer Service

  • Maintain the visual identity through the Commercial Handbook, ensuring mannequins and displays are well styled.
  • Create a cohesive visual story from windows to the sales area with wearable suggestions.
  • Ensure high-quality garment presentation daily.
  • Manage customer flow through fixture placement and navigation.
  • Launch and maintain sales campaigns on time and per standards.

Commercial Routines

  • Follow up on store KPIs and initiate actions to meet goals.
  • Adjust store planning based on needs and budgets.
  • Maximize commercial opportunities through the Customer Experience Tool.

Visual Store Operations

  • Execute sample picking and floor moves to create compelling stories and suggestions.
  • Complete daily routines before store opening.
  • Maintain visual props and marketing materials with a focus on sustainability.
  • Keep visual areas organized and safe.
  • Update visual materials with seasonal changes and maintain windows.

People and Teams

  • Support team development through coaching and visual training.
  • Ensure legal and policy compliance.

Training and Development

  • Develop visual and commercial skills of the team.
  • Follow up on floor moves and provide feedback.
  • Identify future talent for visual merchandising roles.

Communication and Legal Requirements

  • Ensure all visual communication complies with local laws.

Security

  • Work according to safety, security, and health routines.
  • Follow procedures for safety and security in all store areas.

Qualifications

Who You Are

  • 1-2+ years of transferable experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift over 20 pounds, stand long periods, and perform physical tasks.
  • Ability to climb ladders, use tools, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
