Job summary

Acuren is seeking Visual Inspectors to support upcoming turnaround work at our client site IOR in Cold Lake, AB. This role involves 12-hour shifts on a 6/1 rotation, with preference for candidates located within Alberta.

Responsibilities include observing work to ensure compliance, inspecting piping and structures, and evaluating reports per codes and standards. Candidates should have API 510/570 and IBPV certifications and be proficient with Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Must have API 510, API 570 and IBPV certifications.
• Ability to verify and accept material.
• Working knowledge of computers; proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe work in progress to ensure conformance with requirements and workmanship.
• Inspect process piping, power piping and structures from material verification to final commissioning and installation.
• Review test and inspection reports using applicable procedures, codes and standards; determine accept/reject outcomes.
• Experience reviewing Work Scope Packages; read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Position Summary:

• Start Date: August 28, 2026 to September 24, 2026
• Location: IOR, Cold Lake, AB
• Rotation: 6/1, 12 hour shifts
• Prefer candidates to be located within AB

Responsibilities

• Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
• Inspection of process piping, power piping and structures from material verification stage to final commissioning and installation
• Utilizes applicable procedures, codes, and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptable or rejection/or rejection
• Experience reviewing Work Scope Packages
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Requirements

• API 510, 570, IBPV (required)
• Ability to verify and accept material
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
