Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Executive Director, School Operations to provide strategic leadership for Regional School Operations in Nunavut. You will oversee education program delivery, ensure compliance with the Education Act, and drive inclusive student support services across communities.

The role requires a master’s degree in education and senior management experience, with a 3-year term. A criminal record check and vulnerability screening are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, ideally in Education Administration.
• 5 years of elementary/secondary education administration experience at principal or regional level.
• 2 years as a senior manager (e.g., Superintendent of Schools).
• Criminal record check and vulnerable sector check required.
• Fluency in official Nunavut languages is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Regional School Operations to ensure safe, student-centred schools.
• Oversee implementation of the Education Act and related policies in the Region.
• Support delivery of Nunavut’s Education Program including curriculum and assessments.
• Support development of students and inclusive education with responsive services.
• Contribute to Departmental strategic direction and objectives.
• Collaborate with Stakeholder Engagement and District Education Authorities.
