Job summary

Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) in Hamilton, ON seeks a Vision Rehabilitation Assistant to work with certified specialists. The role focuses on vision rehabilitation, assistive tech, orientation and mobility, and low vision support to help clients achieve goals.

The position requires strong organization, communication, and confidentiality. Travel to client sites and VLRC clinics is expected; salary is $24.05/hour with full-time permanent status.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field or related experience.
• Experience with individuals who are blind or partially sighted is an asset.
• Clean Criminal Record and vulnerable populations check required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Rehabilitation Specialists to implement rehabilitation plans.
• Contribute to planning, implementation, modification, and evaluation of treatment plans.
• Teach adaptive skills for independent living and basic mobility.
• Assist with maintenance and inventory of adaptive devices and demos.
• Monitor progress and report observations to the specialist.
• Maintain case data and documentation in VLRC systems.
• Coordinate travel schedules and support program development.
