The Vice-President (VP), Operations and Oversight within the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings and Investing Advice Banking Product Teams is accountable for supporting implementation of business control processes and proactive risk/deficiency management, oversight of vendor management, and overall operational excellence The role supports value realization, sustainment, and ongoing effectiveness of the business and strategic organizational initiatives by adopting effective change management and project management practices and processes.

What You’ll be Doing
Operational Controls
Establish a strategy and framework for ongoing identification of operational control requirements and oversight of adherence to controls.
Working with Business Controls, provide support to the various control processes such as internal audits, development of deficiency mitigation solutions and incident management.
Provide operational compliance advice including proactive risk/control deficiency management and ongoing review of process/procedures.
Manage and provide oversight of all business controls in partnership with the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) to meet regulatory obligations.
Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the operational compliance environment and key processes. Provide end to end data stewardship.
Identify and assess the results of control testing/failures to determine the nature, extent and impact to operational compliance.
Ensure enterprise approach to remediations and regulatory programs are consistent and without overlap for Day-to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing and Advice.
Vendor Management
Lead the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing and Advice Vendor Management function including managing risk, costs and vendor relationships that support the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing, and Advice Product portfolio (credit and deposits).
Partner with Corporate Services on the procurement of new goods and services in support of the Product Portfolio.
Ensure that team members adhere to the Procurement Policy, the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Policy and the Procurement Methodology when interacting with suppliers for the purpose of purchasing good or services on behalf of CIBC.
Throughout project planning and execution, ensure oversight and alignment to Personal and Business Banking and CIBC strategy, identifying internal and external factors that may impact project delivery.
Operational Excellence
Lead the execution and implementation of the Day-to-Day and Savings, Investing and Advice Banking business plans, standards, initiatives and established activities ensuring effective operational execution.
In collaboration with Technology, oversee business and technology architecture for Day- to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing, and Advice.
Investigate root cause, identify gaps and provide recommendation to address high priority issues and opportunities.
Identify opportunities to remove or streamline activities from the frontline or Contact Centres.
In collaboration with Fusion, manage the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing, and Advice response to incident management from developing contingency process and procedures, coordinating the response nationally, partnering with Business Stakeholders.
In collaboration with Technology provide production support for credit and debit platforms.
Ensure consistency and streamlined processes and communication are achieved and ensure alignment to the overall Personal & Business Banking Strategy.
Thorough observation, analysis and interpretation, provide guidance to the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings, Investing and Advice leadership team in understanding and identifying operational performance.
Promote an environment where innovative solutions are employed to ensure efficient, timely problem resolutions, which meet business needs and regulatory requirements and champion Artificial Intelligence (AI) throughout the Day-to-Day and Savings, Investing and Advice businesses.
Collaborate with various risk partners and frontline experts to proactively identify near term and longer-term opportunities to improve compliance to regulatory requirements.
Partner with the product management teams to create opportunities to develop enhancements and modernization initiatives that simplify and automate processes for frontline, and report to senior business leadership on progressand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
