Role Overview
The Vice-President (VP), Operations and Oversight within the Day-to-Day Banking and Savings and Investing Advice Banking Product Teams is accountable for supporting business control processes, proactive risk/deficiency management, vendor oversight, and operational excellence. The role supports value realization, sustainment, and ongoing effectiveness of strategic initiatives through effective change and project management practices.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Controls
- Establish strategies for operational control identification and oversight.
- Support control processes like internal audits, deficiency mitigation, and incident management.
- Provide operational compliance advice and review processes regularly.
- Manage business controls in partnership with the CAO to meet regulatory obligations.
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of compliance environments and data stewardship.
- Assess control testing results to determine impact on compliance.
- Ensure consistent enterprise approach to remediations and regulatory programs across banking sectors.
Vendor Management
- Lead vendor management for Day-to-Day Banking, Savings, Investing, and Advice products, managing risks, costs, and relationships.
- Partner with Corporate Services for procurement activities.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and third-party risk management policies.
- Align project planning and execution with CIBC strategy, considering internal and external factors.
Operational Excellence
- Lead execution of business plans, standards, and initiatives.
- Oversee business and technology architecture in collaboration with Technology.
- Investigate root causes of issues and recommend improvements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline activities and improve operational efficiency.
- Manage incident response and contingency planning in collaboration with Fusion and stakeholders.
- Support production systems and ensure process alignment with strategy.
- Promote innovative solutions and AI integration within operations.
- Work with risk partners to proactively improve compliance and develop process enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- Strong business acumen, analytics, and experience in customer and employee experience integration.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
- Proven change management capabilities.
- Results-driven with the ability to meet ambitious timelines.
- Knowledge of financial services, operational controls, and regulatory issues.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
