Following its 2024 acquisition by Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., Stelco continues to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary, preserving its iconic Canadian name and legacy while playing a vital role within the largest flat-rolled steel producer in North America.
Reporting directly to the President and General Counsel, the Vice President of Operations (VP) will serve as Stelco’s most senior operational leader, with oversight of both Lake Erie Works and Hamilton Works. The VP is responsible for all aspects of coke and iron production, steelmaking, ironmaking, hot strip mill operations, pickle lines, cold rolling, and maintenance services. They will drive operational excellence by developing and executing strategies that enhance productivity, optimize costs, and uphold the highest quality standards. They will ensure seamless production planning, resource allocation, and strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Leading a team of five divisional managers and numerous indirect reports, the VP will foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring operational efficiency while positioning Stelco and Cleveland-Cliffs for long-term success within the steel industry.
