Purpose

The Vice President, Identity Access Management (VP) is responsible for supporting the achievement of the Bank’s information security objectives of integrity, confidentiality/privacy, availability, and continuity, and the delivery of information security for the Scotiabank Group. With global oversight for the Bank's IAM services and program, this VP will be responsible for the enterprise-wide IAM program and ensuring the Bank meets its obligations under various regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities
  1. Designing, implementing, and operating Identity and Access Management (IAM) services across the global organization to ensure the correct individuals, processes, and devices have access to the right resources at the right time.
  2. Designing, implementing, and operating controls including access control, privilege management, logging, access governance, reporting, and independent review to ensure authorized data access and modifications in accordance with Bank standards and legislative requirements.
  3. Developing customer protection technologies to provide a secure online experience across all online channels.
  4. Managing Machine Identity Management (MIM) processes for digital device credentials.
  5. Managing Process Identity Management (PIM) processes for application process credentials in on-premise and cloud environments.
  6. Ensuring IAM strategies meet organizational standards, monitoring current processes, documenting procedures, analyzing access needs, and implementing new systems as needed.
  7. Staying abreast of best-in-class technologies, evaluating existing tools, and exploring opportunities to optimize costs and capabilities.
  8. Contributing to IS&C strategy, providing insights, and supporting major projects and initiatives.
  9. Maintaining industry relationships and staying informed on industry best practices.
  10. Leading daily operations aligned with the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite, and communicating these principles to the team.
  11. Fostering an effective, inclusive, and high-performance team environment, including talent development and succession planning.
Education / Experience
  1. Experience leading global IAM programs in large organizations with diverse geographies.
  2. Expertise in third-party security solutions, system architectures, operational models, and standards like NIST and MITRE ATT&CK.
  3. Proven leadership of enterprise-wide IAM teams.
  4. Experience in industries such as banking, telecoms, healthcare, or retail is preferred.
  5. Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
