About the Opportunity

Our growing client in Ottawa West is seeking a Vice-President of Finance to join their dynamic, fast-paced organization on a full-time, permanent basis. This organization offers opportunities for professional growth and development, along with a generous compensation package.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Producing financial statements
  2. Coordinating and preparing budgets and financial forecasts
  3. Costing and inventory analysis, cash flow management
  4. Preparing month-end and year-end closes
  5. Financial analysis, reporting, and ad hoc analysis as needed
  6. Submitting tax remittances
  7. Implementing tax optimization strategies
  8. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and presenting financial reports
  9. Liaising with external auditors and leading the audit process
  10. Instituting and maintaining internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance
  11. Communicating with senior management on finance-related strategies, including developing long-term growth models
  12. Overseeing and supporting senior accounting staff

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  1. 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance within a similar role in a medium-to-large organization
  2. 5+ years of leadership experience managing an accounting team
  3. Experience in a project-based industry (asset)
  4. Experience with REITs (asset)
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills
  7. Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  8. Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
