The Railway Association of Canada (RAC) is the national industry association representing close to 60 freight and passenger railway companies, which transport millions of passengers and approximately $380 billion worth of goods across Canada each year. RAC also includes a growing number of industrial railways and railway supply companies as associate members. As the national voice of rail in Canada, RAC plays a critical role in advancing policies that support investment, innovation, and sustainability in the rail sector, while promoting collaboration across its diverse membership.
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President Finance and Operations is a key member of the senior management team. This role acts as Treasurer for RAC and works closely with the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board. The Vice President is responsible for developing and overseeing, in partnership with the President & CEO, the financial, human, material, and information technology resources of the Association, aligning with the strategic vision and policies set by the Board of Directors. The position significantly contributes to the operational excellence and financial sustainability of RAC.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned non-profit leader with a CPA designation and a proven track record of achieving financial and operational effectiveness. You are known for transparency, tact, and a blend of strategic and hands-on approaches. Comfortable in a small team environment, you can adapt to wearing different hats as needed. Exceptional communication skills that inspire trust and the ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels are essential. Bilingualism is considered an asset.
