We are looking for a Vice President, Finance to join our team and lead the finance operations and be part of the Executive team supporting our business to be a leader. We care deeply about our technology, resolving customer pain points, and getting stuff done fast and are looking for people who share these values and are ready to execute against them every day.

As Vice President Finance, you are required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional and satisfactory manner. In this role you will report to the CEO and will lead and inspire the financial team.

Responsibilities

  • Budget Administration - Actively manage the annual company budget, including rigorous process for pressure testing revenue and retention forecasts
  • OpEx/Cash Management - Actively manage the business performance on key financial KPIs including aligning bottom line expense with revenue performance. Identification of financial strategies to bolster key financial metrics, including revenue, cash and ARR
  • Investor Management and Board Preparation/ Presentation - Prepare quarterly reports for RouteThis’ investors including working closely with the rest of the Executive team to summarize key business results from the previous period
  • Policy Development - Refine and drive policy adherence of key financial policies across the business including ARR Bookings and Revenue Recognition
  • Legal/Contract Negotiation - Oversee and negotiate 3rd party legal review of both client and vendor contracts such as key technology being implemented
  • Credit - Negotiate and manage credit facilities on behalf of the business
  • Financing Strategy/Execution - Identify and pursue grant opportunities as they become available
  • Financial Statement - Oversee the team as they prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including year end review and audits
  • Cap Table - Oversee RouteThis cap table, including board resolutions, option grant paperwork and overall accuracy of RouteThis cap table
  • Team Management - In addition to working closely with the finance team the chosen incumbent will be a key member of RouteThis’ Executive Leadership Team, helping to drive organization wide strategy and execution. Specifically they will partner closely with the CEO and VP of People and Culture to design and drive company wide business rhythms which actively manage reviews of performance key metrics (financial and non-financial), designing both leading and lagging indicators of success and administering processes which ensures accurate reporting on an ongoing basis

Experience

  • Held Sr. financial leadership position within a SaaS scaleup, leading the overall financial function through a period of rapid scale
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced environment, where they build processes as they go, implementing key processes across the organization
  • Expertise beyond finance into broader company operations, ideally building a mature and sophisticated FP&A function
  • Holds a Canadian CPA and is in good standing
  • Experience with any of the following tools is an asset: NetSuite (ERP), Salesforce (CRM), Carta (investor management), Sharepoint and MS Suite - Forecasting and Operations, Gmail and Google doc for presentations and supporting files
  • Experience working with Board of Directors and have the ability to create and deliver clearly articulated financial results
  • Nice to have to have legal experience with reviewing, red lining legal documents

  • Strong coach with an ability to motivate a high performing team
  • Experience in the Internet Service Provider (ISP) or IoT space an added plus
  • Technically literate and familiar with customer engagement technologies, best practices, and trends (Experience using Salesforce, and/or Confluence a plus)
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills and fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously
