Responsibilities

The Corporate Vice President of Communications and Public Relations is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for developing and executing the organization’s communication and public relations strategies. This role acts as a primary spokesperson and oversees internal and external communications, media relations, investor communications, government relations support, and community engagement. The leader manages a team responsible for internal communications, executive communications, crisis management, media relations, corporate sponsorships, website and digital marketing, and social media. Collaboration with hospital leadership is essential to advance strategic goals, with hospital communications teams reporting indirectly to this role.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10+ years of successful communications experience in healthcare; leadership at the C-suite level.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, board members, physicians, officials, and community stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills for diverse audiences.
  • Media relations experience, including with national outlets like Becker’s Healthcare and Modern Healthcare.
  • Track record in leading corporate and regional communications, crisis management, and media relations.
  • Hands-on leadership style, capable of developing materials under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, planning, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring abilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in large, complex, national health systems.
  • Investor relations experience.
  • Knowledge of government relations and working with officials.
  • Connections with national media in key markets (LA, NYC, Midwest).
  • Master’s degree in related fields.
Compensation & Benefits

Estimated annual total compensation ranges from $214,240 to $300,000, including wages, benefits, and potential bonuses. Benefits include paid time off, 401K, health coverage, tuition reimbursement, and voluntary options. Exact salary depends on experience, location, and other factors.
