Position: Vice-President, Communications
Compensation:$nil (volunteer position)
Mandate: August 1, 2023, through July 31, 2024
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Direct reports: Community Relations (Department)
Time commitment: 10-15 hours per week*
OSTA-AECO empowers and advocates for the students of Ontario and provides rich, tailored professional development to student trustees across the province so that they are well-equipped to represent the needs of their local communities.
The Vice-President, Communications is responsible for coordinating the public affairs and image of OSTA-AECO. They act as the primary point of contact for all media outlets and are responsible for publicizing OSTA-AECO and its advocacy initiatives.
As the leader of the Community Relations team, the VP, Communications will:
The VP, Communications will also sit as a non-voting executive council member.
The successful candidate will be required to attend OSTA-AECO’s three annual conferences and any onsite professional development sessions.
Any applicant for the VP, Communications must be and remain a student trustee for the duration of their mandate.
