Job summary

The BC SPCA in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our hospital care team. The RVT will deliver direct patient care for in-patient and out-patient animals using low-stress handling, assist with surgeries, and manage medications and treatments under veterinary supervision.

Responsibilities include client communication, medical record-keeping, lab work, and instrument maintenance. Minimum CVMA-accredited RVT program completion with BCVTA registration is required.

Qualifications

• CVMA-accredited RVT program completion and BCVTA registration
• Experience delivering high-quality customer service
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Able to lift and handle equipment and patients

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using low-stress handling techniques
• Administer vaccines and intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular and oral medications
• Assist with surgeries and prepare instruments
• Maintain medical records and radiology log
• Educate clients on care, discharge instructions, and follow-up
• Support veterinary team with laboratory work and administrative duties
