Job summary

Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is hiring a full-time Kennel Attendant to join our Emergency & Specialty animal hospital. You will help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and support the veterinary team.

The role involves three 12-hour shifts per week with a mix of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be compassionate, physically capable, and fluent in English.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, dependable, and professional attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfortable handling dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
  • Able to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing, bending, and cleaning during the shift.
  • Fluent English speaking and reading skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital, including kennels, treatment areas, laundry, dishes, and common spaces.
  • Restock hospital supplies and ensure work areas remain organized.
  • Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care needs.
  • Observe animal behavior and wellbeing, reporting concerns promptly to the medical team.
  • Assist with safe animal restraint when needed.
  • Complete additional hospital support duties as assigned.

Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) is hiring a full-time Kennel Attendant to join our Emergency & Specialty animal hospital in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal care who enjoys staying organized, supporting veterinary teams, and helping create a clean and safe environment for patients.

As a Kennel Attendant at MVESC, you’ll play an important role in supporting daily hospital operations while working alongside a collaborative team dedicated to exceptional patient care.

Schedule
