Veterinary Assistant

Location: Lake Country, BC

Tri Lake Animal Hospital & Referral Centre in Lake Country, BC, is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. We value team players who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our patients and clients.

As we expand our ER department to 24/7 services, TA shifts will include daytime, evening, overnight, shared weekend, and Stat holiday shifts. Night owls may opt for a strict overnight schedule. Sharing shifts via rotation helps maintain work-life balance for all team members.

Requirements:

• Previous veterinary experience (considered an asset)
• Exceptional client service skills to build trust and loyalty
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse team
• Compassionate and nurturing attitude towards clients and patients
• Ability to remain calm and efficient under stress
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Initiative and ability to work independently

Responsibilities:

• Assist Veterinarians and Technicians with client support and patient treatment, including low-stress restraint techniques
• Support Client Care services, including occasional reception coverage
• Prepare medications and supplies for clients (per DVM and RVT instructions)
• Provide compassionate care to hospitalized patients, including feeding and walking
• Handle and maintain surgical equipment, including setup, cleaning, and sterilization
• Perform general hospital care: cleaning kennels, restocking treatment areas, outdoor maintenance

Compensation: $18.00 - 21.00 per hour. Additional premiums are provided for overnight shifts.
