Job description

Kensington Veterinary Clinic

Kensington, Prince Edward Island

About us:

Kensington Veterinary Clinic is a well established private practice in the heart of Prince Edward Island, Canada. We are a mixed practice serving our community of Kensington and area for over 60 years. We are equipped with in house diagnostics (Idexx, full body & dental digital radiography, ultrasound), dentistry and surgical services. If you are looking to come home to PEI or want a slower pace, close-knit community feel, Kensington and surrounding area might be a great fit!

Associate Veterinarian position details:

We are seeking a companion animal veterinarian to join our team for a one year contract providing routine preventative care as well as diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgery and dentistry. We have a great team of AHTs, assistants and client services representatives and are looking for an individual who thrives in a team environment, takes pride in quality medicine and enjoys enhancing patient and client experience. Our clinic values communication and learning from each other. Case discussion and support of colleagues is highly valued. Appointment hours are Monday-Friday 9-5pm. We participate in a shared on-call group with several local practices to minimize the number of on-call shifts. For after-hours calls, our veterinarians must be comfortable and able to work independently with the support of a technician. We are supported by 2 local urgent care clinics as well as a triage service to help decrease after-hours on-call volume.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
  • License or qualifications to apply for full license to practice veterinary medicine in Prince Edward Island
  • Experience in general practice *
  • Surgical and dentistry skills *
  • ** You'll be joining a collaborative team that values mentorship and case discussion so new grads would be supported by our practice culture. If you have a more experienced skill-set, we're open to learn as well! :-)

Benefits:

  • CE allowance
  • PEIVMA dues paid
  • competitive salary based on experience
  • RRSP
