Job summary

Vallen Canada seeks a Vendor Master Data Specialist to establish and execute foundational vendor data management practices across the organization. You will improve vendor data quality, consistency, and structure by reviewing, matching, and maintaining vendor records within the MDM ecosystem.

Working with the Stibo STEP platform and ERP/data teams, you will evaluate vendor match candidates, support vendor hierarchy development, and contribute to scalable vendor data standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience with Master Data Management concepts and practices.
  • Familiarity with Stibo STEP or similar MDM platforms.
  • Experience working with vendor, supplier, or third-party data in an industrial or enterprise environment.
  • Exposure to D&B data or third-party enrichment/matching services.
  • Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., Infor SX.e, AS/400) and vendor master data structures.
  • Experience contributing to data governance or data quality initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and interpret data relationships.
  • Experience working with structured data, including data cleansing, validation, or record matching.
  • Ability to make consistent, rule-based decisions in ambiguous or edge-case scenarios.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., ERP, IT, Procurement).
  • Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data analysis and validation.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate vendor match candidates within the Stibo STEP system, including integration outputs from D&B data sources.
  • Evaluate and execute vendor record merges and establish global vendor relationships where appropriate.
  • Support the development and maintenance of vendor hierarchies and roll-up structures to enable improved reporting and insights.
  • Collaborate with ERP teams to standardize, cleanse, and normalize vendor data across source systems.
  • Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements to matching, merging, and governance processes.
  • Document workflows, decision criteria, and data standards to help establish repeatable MDM practices.
  • Contribute to the definition and evolution of vendor data governance and stewardship frameworks.
  • Assist in resolving data discrepancies between systems and ensuring alignment across platforms.
  • Provide feedback on system functionality and opportunities for process automation or optimization.

The Vendor Master Data Specialist is a full-time role responsible for establishing and executing foundational vendor data management practices across the organization. This position plays a key role in improving vendor data quality, consistency, and structure by reviewing, matching, and maintaining vendor records within the organization's Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem.

Working within the Stibo STEP platform and in collaboration with ERP and data teams, the Vendor Master Data Specialist will evaluate vendor match candidates, support vendor hierarchy and roll-up structures, and contribute to the development of scalable vendor data standards. This is a startup-oriented role, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to define processes and best practices
