Job Description:
Airbus Digital North America is seeking a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Product Owner to support the Digital Workplace domain, Devices & Services team. The candidate must be authorized to work in Canada or the United States, with a minimum of 3 days per week on-site attendance. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring operational activities of physical and virtual computers in North America.
- Focusing on the efficiency and availability of the product environment.
- Collaborating with VDI technical experts in Europe and North America to coordinate incident resolution and crisis management.
- Supervising the prompt resolution of VDI support tickets by the subcontracted team.
- Implementing continuous improvement and automation processes, ensuring business continuity and optimal user experience.
- Advising business units on selecting the most suitable virtual solutions based on needs and available options.
This role reports to the NA DW Devices & Services Team Lead, with guidance from European technical experts. The activities include:
- Establishing operational reporting and performance tracking.
- Driving continuous improvement and synergy between physical and virtual computer services.
- Analyzing and enhancing operational processes.
- Supporting the implementation of new procedures.
- Managing partners and subcontractors.
- Escalating issues when necessary.
- Preparing for steering committee meetings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, with 3-5 years of experience in service management and process automation.
- Strong knowledge of IT operations, including ITIL principles, with a user-centric or business-oriented approach.
- Experience with incident/problem management, capacity, demand, and event management, and knowledge management.
- Basic understanding of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies (VMware Horizon, Citrix, AWS, etc.).
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams to optimize physical and virtual services.
- Experience in infrastructure technology environments is highly desirable.
- Customer experience orientation.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Basic understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Negotiation-level English proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and change management abilities.
- Team-oriented, innovative, curious, and eager to learn.
- Ability to synthesize and communicate technical topics clearly, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware Horizon, AWS, etc.).
- French language skills are an advantage.
- Experience with Agile Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban projects.
- Basic knowledge of networking and cybersecurity.
