Job summary

Pomerleau Construction is seeking a VDC Coordinator to support BIM/VDC adoption across large-scale building and infrastructure projects in Canada. You will produce and manage VDC docs, assist teams with BIM/VDC processes, and develop data-exchange protocols, while collaborating with designers and trades on BIM execution plans.

You will train the team in Revit and Autodesk Cloud, create 4D simulations, and contribute to BIM bidding with project-specific terminology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction/civil engineering or a technical diploma in civil/architectural fields.
• 1–3 years BIM experience in construction or architecture.
• ISO 19650 knowledge and BIM software proficiency is a plus.

As a VDC Coordinator working in our Innovation team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in inventing the future of design and construction by supporting and enabling project teams to thrive with state-of-the-art BIM/VDC tools and methods. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion, you will explore and support project growth and execution through BIM (Building Information Modelling) and VDC (Virtual Design and Construction).

What you will do

• Produce and manage VDC and contract documentation.
• Assist and support the project team in the implementation and use of BIM/VDC processes;
• Develop protocols for key elements such as communication, data exchange, and the 3D workspace;
• Collaborate with designers and trades to draft and review BIM management plans and BIM execution plans;
• Participate in creating project-specific terminology for contracts and tenders as part of the BIM bidding process;
• Train your team in the use of Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud;
• Creatively design 4D simulations that allow users to experience their project in virtual and augmented reality;

This role could be for you if you have

• A bachelor's degree in construction engineering or civil engineering, or a technical diploma in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience;
• At least 1-3 years of BIM experience in the construction or architectural industry.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of BIM experience in the construction or architecture industry.
• Mastery of ISO 19650 and experience working with BIM software, including REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Infraworks, Tekla, 3Ds Max, Autodesk Cloud Construction suite, will be considered an asset.
• Good technical knowledge of building mechanics and construction
