Job summary

Chandos Construction is seeking a VDC Coordinator to coordinate VDC/BIM development across projects. You will assist design teams and operations to maximize VDC utility, working with Chandos staff to ensure value-based design is delivered per project goals.

You will lead project teams, manage resources, and oversee preconstruction activities, aligning with Chandos’ core values and safety culture. This full-time role involves collaboration across departments on a national-scale build portfolio.

Job Description

The VDC Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and assistance of the VDC/BIM development on a project by project basis. Assisting design teams of consultants, trade contractors and operations staff in utilizing VDC to deliver successful projects. The individual will work closely with all departments and staff within Chandos to ensure VDC is used to its fullest potential on a project to project basis

The Tasks

• Lead, coach and mentor all internal project team members to achieve the project deliverables
• Determine all resources required to complete assigned projects in accordance with the project commitments
• Guide the team in the structure and delivery of project bids, budgeting, and other pre-construction services
• Once the project has been awarded, manage the client relationship to ensure a great experience and client retention
• Provide preconstruction leadership to the project team, challenging them to deliver value-based design
• Align Project Execution Plan with Chandos’ core ideology, by providing oversight on the project goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, budgets, staffing requirements, responsibility matrix, work breakdown structure, milestones and deliverables
• Support a safety culture that aligns with corporate strategies and core values

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in an appropriate field.
• Two or more years’ construction experience with a general contractor.
• High level of knowledge interpreting construction drawings.
• Superior leadership skills.
• Relationship focused.
• Strong working knowledge of VDC software.
• Ability to be certified by Local Governing Bodies
• Technical competency with VDC software, including (not limited to) REVIT, NAVISWORK, AUTOCAD, etc.
