ALCDSB is seeking qualified teachers for long-term occasional assignments in eastern Ontario. Positions include 1.0FTE French as a Second Language and 0.03FTE Itinerant Arts, with starts in late October 2026 and continuing until further notice.

A strong OCT credential and relevant qualifications are required. Applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements, and FSL or IAT qualifications apply by position.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) required.
• Division Specific Qualifications required.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
• FSL position requires French as a Second Language, Part 1.
• Bilingual English/French proficiency required for FSL role.
• IAT position requires Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate and Drama, Arts or Music qualifications.

Eligibility

This posting is open to Teachers on the Occasional Teachers list currently employed by Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and external applicants. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for OECTA to qualified occasional teachers.

Salary Range

The salary of a teacher shall be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement according to QECO rating and years of experience. Effective September 1, 2025 teacher salaries will range from $56,288.00 to $119,949.00 (based on a 1.0FTE)

• St. Joseph Catholic School – 0.03FTE Itinerant Arts Teacher, Long-Term Occasional Assignment (Commencing immediately until June 17, 2027)

• Current Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers
• Submission of Roman Catholic Pastoral Reference (current within 1 year) OR a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate and a Personal Letter of Faith

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must provide a Police Record Check (PRC) with vulnerable sector check (VSC) current within six months of date of hire.

NOTE

Filling of long-term occasional assignments shall occur without an in-person interview. Boards shall continue to staff long-term occasional assignments from the 3 most senior qualified applicants who are available for the assignment. Being available for the assignment is defined as not already being assigned to another LTO position during the term of the posted assignment.
