The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) invites qualified teachers to apply for Long Term Occasional postings. This posting targets elementary positions with OCT Primary qualifications and potential assets in Special Education.

Shortlisting and interviews will be conducted per policy, and postings will be managed to meet placement needs. Applicants should be prepared for a structured selection process and ensure eligibility as outlined in the posting.

Eligibility List

All Occasional Teachers are eligible to apply for Long Term Occasional postings for which they are qualified. If you are fully external to the OCDSB, you may apply to this posting if you have the required qualifications.

Please be advised that our order of consideration for Elementary LTO's is as follows:

  1. Current elementary occasional teacher applicants, followed by

  2. Qualified external applicants.

OCT Additional Qualifications: NA

Additional Requirements (experience, knowledge, education,) considered an asset for the Position: Spec ed qualifications are an asset.

Timelines:

Placements:Prior to releasing the applicant lists - where possible, HR will conduct placements of remaining FSL & EN pool participants upon posting closing.

Shortlisting:For those assignments not placed, HR will shortlist and release applications to admin to review/offer interviews.

Process for selection

A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including:

  1. At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, and who have the required OCT qualifications and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.

  2. If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all qualified applicants will be interviewed.

It is the expectation that a teacher who accepts an assignment must agree to complete the assignment as posted.
