Job summary

Stream-Flo Group, a leader in oilfield valve and choke equipment manufacturing, is seeking a Valve Technician in Edmonton, AB. The role focuses on teardown, repair, testing, and documentation of valve equipment, with responsibilities spanning from receiving parts to after-hours work as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma with valves experience, be mechanically inclined, and capable of operating hand/power tools and a forklift.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with relevant experience in valves/chokes and oilfield industry preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Able to operate a forklift and read work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Tear down, reassemble and troubleshoot valve equipment for repair in accordance with Company standards and procedures and follow Work Order specifications.
  • Test, grease, inspect, and stamp valves.
  • Understand & Write travelers and work orders for estimate to repair.
  • Trouble shoot issues that may arise with equipment.
  • Receive equipment when required.
  • Maintain stock.
  • Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand of any irregularities with orders or equipment.
  • Meet completion deadlines while producing quality work and a quality product.
  • Afterhours availability when required.

Description

Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Customer Property/Remanufacturing, the Valve Technician will be responsible for repairs of all valve equipment.

Key position functions include:

  • Tear down, reassemble and troubleshoot valve equipment for repair in accordance with Company standards and procedures and follow Work Order specifications
  • Test, grease, inspect, and stamp valves
  • Understand & Write travelers and work orders for estimate to repair
  • Trouble shoot issues that may arise with equipment
  • Receive equipment when required
  • Maintain stock
  • Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand of any irregularities with orders or equipment

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma with relevant experience with valves/chokes and oilfield industry preferred
  • Mechanically inclined; basic understanding of hand and power tool functionality
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills
  • Well organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
