Job summary

Stream-Flo Group of Companies is seeking a Valve Technician to repair and service valve equipment. You will teardown, reassemble, troubleshoot, test and stamp valves per company standards and work orders. Responsibilities include writing travelers, maintaining stock, and meeting tight deadlines.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to operate hand and power tools, and strong communication skills. After-hours availability may be required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and valve/choke experience preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined with basic hand/power tool understanding.
  • Forklift operation ability desired.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Well organized to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Tear down, reassemble and troubleshoot valve equipment per standards and Work Orders.
  • Test, grease, inspect, and stamp valves.
  • Write travelers and work orders for repair estimates.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Receive equipment when required and maintain stock.
  • Inform supervisors of irregularities with orders or equipment.
  • Meet deadlines while producing quality work and a quality product.
  • Provide after-hours availability when required.

Job description

Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Customer Property/Remanufacturing, the Valve Technician will be responsible for repairs of all valve equipment.

Key position functions include:

  • Tear down, reassemble and troubleshoot valve equipment for repair in accordance with Company standards and procedures and follow Work Order specifications
  • Test, grease, inspect, and stamp valves
  • Understand & Write travelers and work orders for estimate to repair
  • Trouble shoot issues that may arise with equipment
  • Receive equipment when required
  • Maintain stock
  • Inform Supervisor/Lead Hand of any irregularities with orders or equipment
  • Meet completion deadlines while producing quality work and a quality product
  • Afterhours availability when required

Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:

  • High School Diploma with relevant experience with valves/chokes and oilfield industry preferred
  • Mechanically inclined; basic understanding of hand and power tool functionality
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Good communication (oral and written), interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills
  • Well organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
