Job description

Valve Technician is an integral part of the Lifecycle Services service model. Valve Technicians will be responsible for teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics using Flowscanner of all brands of control valves and instruments, associated paperwork, valve diagnostics, digital control technology, and the associated instrumentation such as AMS & Delta V, while working in a shop environment.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

  1. Assembly of new equipment or repaired equipment.
  2. Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities – cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc.
  3. Customer communication – technical assistance, troubleshooting, quoting / figuring out disposition of repairs.
  4. Disassembly, cleanup, and evaluation of parts.
  5. Surface preparation and painting assemblies and parts.
  6. Nameplate stamping and tagging.
  7. Final inspection and completion of inspection report.
  8. Signing and documenting date compliance sheets.
  9. Adherence to all safety, quality, company rules, and regulations.
  10. Responsible for personal safety and those around them.
  11. Participation in field service calls, as required, at customer sites. May require overnight stays from time to time.
  12. Participation and involvement in Safety, Quality, and Activities Committees.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED :

  • High School diploma or equivalent post-secondary education.
  • 2+ years of previous industry-related experience.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment with prolonged standing, lifting 35 pounds, bending, scooping, and repetitive motions.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process-related problems.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize challenging demands.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical-related degree a plus.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
  • Understanding or work experience with Fisher and Final Control products preferred.
  • Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
