Job summary

Releady is seeking a UX Content Strategist & Writer to craft clear, user-centered content for a complex digital product. The role supports web and mobile experiences and collaborates with design, product, research, and development teams to ensure content is intuitive, accurate, and consistent.

This contract role (6+ months, with extension) offers hybrid work in Toronto (2-3 days) with potential flexibility for Ontario-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to translate technical concepts for users.

Responsibilities

• Write clear UX content for a customer-facing API developer portal.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, engineers, and SMEs.
• Develop content for API discovery, onboarding, authentication, setup, error states, and guided flows.
• Shape content strategy, information architecture, taxonomy, and navigation.
• Edit and proofread technical and UX content for clarity, accuracy, usability, and accessibility.
• Maintain content standards, terminology, voice, and tone across the portal.

OVERVIEW

The UX Content Strategist & Writer will create clear, user-focused content for a complex digital product. This role supports web and mobile experiences and works closely with design, product, research, and development teams to ensure content is intuitive, accurate, and consistent.

Contract: 6+ months (extension / conversion possible)

Hourly rate: $52/hour (T4) $58/hour (IC)

Hybrid - based in Toronto, Ontario (2-3 days / week) - potential flexibility for someone outside of the local market within Ontario

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write clear and concise UX content, including microcopy, for a customer-facing API developer portal.
• Partner with UX/UI designers, product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts to create intuitive developer journeys and content experiences.
• Develop and optimize content for API discovery, onboarding, authentication, setup, error states, guided flows, and self-service support.
• Help shape content strategy, information architecture, taxonomy, and navigation so customers can easily find, understand, and use APIs.
• Edit and proofread technical and UX content for clarity, accuracy, consistency, usability, and accessibility.
• Establish and maintain content standards, terminology, voice, and tone across the developer portal.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, or a related field.
• Experience creating content for complex digital products, platforms, or developer-facing experiences.
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear, concise, user-centered content.
• Familiarity with developer portals, APIs, API documentation, or technical workflows strongly preferred.
• Experience with information architecture, content hierarchy, taxonomy, and navigation.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a high level of attention to consistency, terminology, and detail.
