Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is seeking a dedicated Utility Tree Trimmer (UTT) in Calgary. The role involves trimming, pruning, and removing trees threatening utility infrastructure, while safely operating equipment and supervising crew to uphold high safety standards.

You will join an employee-owned team with strong mentorship, benefits, and 100% PPE and climbing gear provided, plus ongoing training and career growth. Must meet certification and licensing requirements and pass drug screening.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Ability to withstand exposure to various weather and environmental conditions.
• Current First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Trim, prune, and remove trees or branches posing risk to utility infrastructure.
• Safely remove trees using industry-standard techniques without causing damage.
• Operate chainsaws, pole saws, aerial lifts, chipper trucks, and cranes.
• Train and supervise crew in safe practices around high-voltage equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of vegetation management activities.
• Document completed work for regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and protect habitats.
• Perform other duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Expectations:

• Utility Tree Trimmer Certification.
• Valid Class 5 drivers’ license, with air endorsement or willingness to obtain.

• Current First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions.
