Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is seeking an Arborist Apprentice for a full-time role reporting to the Project Manager. The position involves load/unload operations, site setup, and hands-on field work in varying weather conditions.

Ideal candidates have basic tree knowledge, a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid Class 5 license, and a willingness to learn, with safety and PPE in focus. On-call rotations and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of trees, including identification and growth habits.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; air brakes endorsement is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team in physically demanding environments.
• Motivated to learn independently and from team members, with strong time management skills.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Comfortable working in noisy environments with proper PPE.
• Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations during emergencies.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR certificates.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris, or feed brush into a woodchipper.
• Assist in site set-up and take-down, including equipment handling and maintaining site cleanliness.
• Commitment to working safely and supporting a positive team environment.
• Perform physically demanding manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Other duties as required.
