Job summary

CEDA is seeking 1 Utility Operator Class 2 for our Nanticoke, ON location. You will learn and gain experience operating vacuum trucks, high-pressure water jetting units, and chemical cleaning equipment with a safety-first team.

We offer competitive pay of $24-$26 per hour, benefits and pension after 1040 hours, overtime eligibility, and opportunities for growth across diverse field assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety focus are required.
• Experience with confined spaces is beneficial.
• Able to carry up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks and high-pressure water equipment.
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor-intensive capacity.
• Climb into vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment.
• Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, and safety documents.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and follow supervision directions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
• Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity
• Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
• Ensure safety for all team members and property
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
• Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
• Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
• Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
• Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

• Valid ClassG driver’s license with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
• 1+ years experience in an industrial environment is an asset but not required
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Ability to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Experience and comfort with confined spaces
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
• Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
• You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
