SUMMARY

The Utility Analyst is responsible for maintaining the integrity of utility data within information systems and fulfilling client reporting and analytical obligations. The analyst also oversees the ongoing accuracy of utility data verification, reporting, and analysis processes.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Utility Data Integrity

• Validate utility bill data and generate energy, cost, and consumption reports to review accuracy and identify anomalies.
• Coordinate with accounts payable and utility companies to verify discrepancies.
• Identify and correct data input errors.
• Guide accounts payable in resolving billing issues.
• Collaborate with BGIS IMS team to ensure data accuracy.

Utility Account Setup and Closure

• Coordinate setup and closure of utility accounts for clients.
• Validate account setups and ensure they are payable by the client (excluding lease payments).
• Respond to client inquiries regarding utility accounts.
• Integrate utility information into BGIS IMS and coordinate with lease providers.

Data Validation

• Flag data entry errors for correction.
• Detect billing errors and follow up with utility companies for correction or recovery.
• Identify and report consumption or cost anomalies for further investigation.

Utility Disconnections

• Assist in mitigating utility disconnections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Community college diploma, preferably in accounting.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data discrepancies.
• Proficiency in extracting and compiling data into reports.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ability to learn proprietary systems quickly.
• Basic knowledge of utility pricing and units.
• Quality-oriented mindset and adherence to standards.

Licenses and Professional Accreditation
