The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for an Utility Administrator based out of Kamloops, BC. The Utility Administrator has strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail. They manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and continuously re-prioritize duties. This fast-paced office environment is the main hub for the operations team, and with a positive attitude, the Utility Administrator encourages their team members to overcome obstacles to complete assignments. Working cohesively with peers throughout Bluestem Utilities, the Utility Administrator maintains solid customer relationships by handling questions and concerns with speed and professionalism.

What you'll do

Major Accountabilities

  • Supports the regional operations team, participating in developing and implementing operating/administrative processes, annual capital/operating budgets, and customer and contractor agreements.
  • Provides administrative support and reception duties to the regional operations team.
  • Performs AP/AR duties in compliance with company policies and procedures, including the timely processing of invoices, issuing purchase orders, and maintaining accounting records.
  • Organizes and maintains various filing systems, including an electronic management system and document retention program.

General Responsibilities

  • Supports the Area Manager and Area Supervisor, participating in the development and implementation of operating/administrative processes, annual capital/operating budgets, and customer and contractor agreements, performing data analysis, and assisting in the preparation of supporting documentation for capital expenditures.
  • Performs general administrative tasks and reception duties, such as planning meetings, completion of expense claims, timesheets, and job costing, assisting in document preparation, greeting visitors, and directing calls and mail as appropriate.
  • Completes month-end contract invoice processing.
  • Works with the Customer Care team to ensure proper billing and customer setup are completed for the region. Communicates the appropriate rates and contact information and prepares and distributes customer invoices as required.
  • Assists with health and safety program, updating emergency manuals and contact numbers as required, maintaining emergency contact information for the operations staff, and preparing and distributing monthly safety minutes.
  • Assists operations during utility emergencies, recording relevant information related to those emergencies and contacting appropriate responders and agencies according to jurisdiction.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
