Job summary

Falls Fabricating LLC in Little Falls is seeking a manufacturing/welding technician to perform essential welding, forming and machining tasks in a multi-department shop.

You will read prints, set up equipment, run spot and robotic welders, inspect welds, and help maintain safety and quality under ISO 9001:2015 guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in welding and metal fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to read basic prints and measurement values.
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to operate spot and robotic welders and related tooling.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Read basic prints and shop routing instructions.
  • Set up and troubleshoot spot welders and hand tools.
  • Operate robotic welding equipment and load parts correctly.
  • Identify poor welds and take corrective action.
  • Perform leak testing and basic forming operations.
  • Complete documentation and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Support machining secondary operations and basic CNC milling.

Job description

Department: Multiple Departments Location: Little Falls Grade: 4 Reports to: Manager Status: Open Effective Date: 10/13/21 Prepared by: HR Approved by: CEO

Essential Duties
  • Read basic prints and shop routing instructions
  • Read and understand basic measurement values for a tape measure and caliper
  • Lift 75 pounds on an occasional basis and 35 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to do all of Utility 1 job description duties
  • Spot Welding
  • Use of hand tools
  • Setup spot welder and troubleshoot issues
  • Robotic Welding
  • Properly load parts
  • Identify poor welds and take action
  • Maintain welding torch
  • Ability to make minor adjustments as needed
  • Leak Testing
  • Repair leaks as needed
  • Operate hand tools and grinding equipment
  • Properly plug and cap parts
  • Part stamping
  • Complete all documentation
  • Forming
  • Ability to operate a press brake and tube bender
  • Assist running two person forming jobs
  • Machining Secondary Ops
  • Operate hand tools such as drill presses, tapping machines, chop saws, and hand drills
  • Basic CNC mill operating
  • Deburr parts as needed

Responsibilities

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and/or quality system
  • Authority as determined by Management for final disposition of product
  • Participate as required in quality audits and in developing quality plans
  • Carry out tasks in a safe manner in accordance with known and/or published safety policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Authority
  • Effect any change(s) necessary to control and maintain the Falls Fabricating LLC, ISO-9001:2015 Quality System
  • Initiate corrective and preventive actions as necessary to support ISO-9001:2015 registration/certification
  • Stop production if any process adversely affects product quality
Education and/or Experience

Manufacturing Experience Preferred

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Constant standing and walking required
  • Regularly required to bend, stoop, squat, kneel and reach
  • Regularly required to lift and move materials
