Job summary

Britespan Building Systems Inc. in Ontario is seeking a CWB welder to join our manufacturing team. You will set up welding workstations, operate MIG equipment, read drawings, inspect welds, and maintain quality while following safety protocols.

The role requires at least 1 year of related experience, a CWB certificate (or ability to obtain one), and a valid forklift certificate. You must pass health and safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience as a CWB Certified welder in a manufacturing environment (asset).
  • Experience with production processes (asset).
  • Ability to read and interpret welding process specifications.
  • Capable of setting up workstation and associated tools.
  • Read and interpret drawings or welding process specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of setting up workstation and all associated tools.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment.
  • Tack and welding procedures.
  • Inspect welds to maintain quality and reduce rework.
  • Read and interpret drawings or welding process specifications.
  • Continuous learner within and beyond their own work area.
  • Stand for long periods and perform heavy lifting.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.

NOTE: Ticket Welders with CWB will start at $26.66/hr. Non-ticketed welders will start at $24.35/hr. Top rate for hourly range is $28.78.

Position Summary:

The Welder is responsible for quality of the welds on all truss and small component parts for Britespan's buildings.

Position Qualifications:
Education & Knowledge
  • Completion of Secondary Education or Equivalent
  • A valid Driver's License
  • CWB Certified Welder (may be obtained through employment)
  • A Forklift Certificate (may be obtained through employment)
Skills
  • Knowledge of hand/power tools
  • Able to operate a mig welder
  • Able to operate equipment such as hand grinder, forklifts and hand tools
  • Able to read and interpret part drawings and welding process specifications
  • Able to inspect parts for quality assurance
  • Able to perform basic math problems
  • Excellent time management & attention to detail
  • Physical strength is required for manual material handling
Experience
  • 1 year of related experience as a CWB Certified welder in a manufacturing environment (asset)
  • Experience in production processes (asset)
Communication
  • Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
  • Interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
