Qualifications

  • Candidates working towards CPA designation preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and tax software is a plus.

Job Summary

Celestica is seeking an Analyst, US Tax to support tax accounting and compliance for its U.S. operations. The role involves preparing tax schedules, basic journal entries, and assisting with tax compliance for corporate income, state and local taxes, as well as supporting audit, documentation, and process improvement activities.

Responsibilities
  • Tax Compliance & Accounting Support: Assist in the preparation of schedules and data for corporate income tax returns, US state and local tax returns, and other basic tax‑related compliance documents. Prepare basic journal entries, perform ledger analysis, and help reconcile tax‑related accounts.
  • Data Collection & Review: Collect and organize financial data relevant for tax reporting and analysis. Review system reports for basic tax accuracy. Assist with the design and build‑out of tax models for forecasting and management analysis.
  • Audit Assistance: Provide assistance in gathering documentation and information for both internal and external tax audits, or other tax inquiries.
  • Process Adherence & Documentation: Work within established professional standards and practices, following defined procedures and methods for tax assignments. Maintain accurate records for tax‑related transactions and documents.
  • Problem Identification: Identify basic problems or discrepancies in tax data or processes, referring situations not covered by standard procedures to a manager or senior team member.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within the tax team and cross‑functionally (e.g., with Accounting, Finance) to achieve shared objectives. Prepare tax reference and training materials to assist cross‑functional teams in understanding relevant tax concepts that impact the business.
  • Project & Work Group Participation: Participate in multi‑functional work groups or project teams, assisting with process improvements and supporting the planning and prioritization of work for the team. Provide advice and guidance on defined tasks within your area of specialty.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues. Participate in meetings, offering input and providing explanations in a problem‑solving capacity. Support and contribute to achieving team objectives, and assist in resolving routine conflicts in a tactful and diplomatic manner.
Ideal Candidate
  • Foundational Tax & Accounting Knowledge: Basic understanding of US tax principles (Internal Revenue Code and US Treasury Regulations), accounting concepts, and their application in a corporate setting.
  • Analytical & Detail‑Oriented: Ability to consolidate and analyze financial data for tax purposes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data preparation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office). Ability to learn and use tax‑specific software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information.
  • Problem‑Solving Aptitude: Capacity to identify problems and contribute to their resolution within defined parameters.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks efficiently and maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Global Awareness: Basic understanding of the global business environment and Celestica's operations.
Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Educational experience may vary by geography.
  • Preference for candidates working towards their CPA designation.
  • Working knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and US Treasury Regulations considered an asset.
Typical Experience
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience in tax, accounting, or a related finance role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Prior experience in U.S. and cross‑border corporate taxation considered an asset.
Salary

The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short‑Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.

Salary Range: $74,310–$103,767 CAD/year
