Empire Life is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its US Equities team. The role involves collecting and analyzing industry and economic data, reviewing reports, meeting with management, and constructing models to support portfolio decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in investment research or related roles.
• University degree with finance/economics/mathematics courses.
• CFA or working toward designation.
• Strong knowledge of capital markets and macroeconomics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze industry, company, and economic data from multiple sources.
• Review annual and quarterly reports and proxy statements.
• Meet with management teams of portfolio companies.
• Attend industry events to gather information.
• Analyze financial information via reports and investor presentations.
• Write research reports and present to management to aid portfolio decisions.
• Construct stock screens using Bloomberg to identify investment ideas.
• Build and maintain spreadsheet models for valuation and monitoring.
• Determine buy/sell targets based on qualitative and quantitative data.
• Present investment ideas to the Investment Team.
• Keep abreast of portfolio strategy and market developments.
• Maintain portfolio statistics on exposures and valuation parameters.
• Communicate portfolio positioning ideas to portfolio managers.
• Execute special projects for portfolio managers as required.
• Market fund management capabilities including presentations to clients.
