Job summary

Homewood Ravensview in North Saanich, BC, is seeking a Unit Clerk to join a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility. You will support patient care, process orders, manage scheduling, and input data into electronic charts in a collaborative, caring team.

The role requires a Unit Clerk diploma or certificate, Grade 12, knowledge of medical terminology, and 1 year of related experience, with strong communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk diploma or certificate program.
• Completion of Grade 12.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Proven strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure quality patient care and effective flow of information and communication.
• Handle and protect confidential client and company information within and outside of the organization.
• Answer and direct phone calls.
• Process physician's orders for medications, laboratory and diagnostic tests, requests for medical records and other tasks.
• Assist with scheduling of physician's appointments and manage scheduling conflicts.
• Book client appointments with external service providers.
• Process requests for medical records, test results and other documents.
• Assist with maintaining and ordering supplies.
• Input data and documents into clients' electronic charts.
