Job summary

Humber River Health’s Emergency Department serves over 110,000 patients annually, providing timely, compassionate emergency care. The Unit Aide role is part-time with rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays at the Wilson site.

Reporting to the NOWU labour group, the position offers an hourly rate of 27.758–28.306 and requires high school graduation, CSAO or sterile processing certification preferred, and strong English communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• CSAO or Sterile Supply Processing certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
• Good command of the English Language, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Unit Aide duties in Emergency Department.
• Maintaining and ordering of supplies in the rooms and department.
• Stocks rooms with required supplies and linen.
• Cleans equipment and ensures equipment is functional.
• Ensures that sufficient supplies are on hand for patient care until the next ordering shift.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physically able to push stretchers, lift and store linen and surgical supplies, clean stretchers.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
